Visitation Rules and Times

  1. Residents are authorized one-half hour of visitation per week, two adults per visit. Additional children will be admitted on a space available basis. The SEPTA Correctional Facility week begins on Monday and ends the following Sunday.
  2. Resident visitation is on a first come, first served basis. Visitation occurs on Saturday and Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last visit ends at 4:00 p.m.), and on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (last visit ends at 9:00p.m.). Visitors must be on the resident’s Approved Visitors List. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by parents or guardian.
  3. Visitors must provide, at each visit, valid identification (photo ID or two or more forms of positive ID for adults and birth certificate for visitors under the age of 18).
  4. All purses, coats, diapers, etc. will be checked by the Security staff member on duty at the entrance monitor desk and placed in lockers. SEPTA Correctional Facility is not responsible for items left on the premises.
  5. Visitors may only leave money or clothing items for residents. Money and clothing items will be accepted up to 15 minutes before visitation starts and 15 minutes after visitation is over Clothing items will be searched. Contraband will be seized and/or returned and appropriate action taken. Clothing and money may be brought in anytime during non-visitation days.
  6.  All visitors must be properly clothed and are permitted only in designated areas.
  7. Any display of sexual feelings beyond those permitted in other social settings is prohibited. If such behavior is observed, the visit may be terminated at the discretion of the Security staff member on duty.
  8. Residents are responsible for the conduct of their visitors. Visitors will be denied visiting privileges for any such misconduct.
  9. Visitors shall be subject to searches by SEPTA Correctional facility staff. Upon arrival to visit, all visitors shall be required to pass through a metal detector before entrance into the facility will be granted. All pocket contents shall be emptied and contents shall be searched.
