SEPTA Correctional Facility recognizes the importance of family involvement and support for a resident during his program. However, the facility also recognizes that separation from family and friends is a difficult but necessary part of the resident gaining independence, maturity, coping skills, and behavior changes. Privileges for phone calls, weekly visitation, and furloughs are incorporated into the program's design if the resident chooses, earns, and retains them.

During predetermined times, the privilege of collect phone calls is given to the resident when he is not scheduled to be in programming or another activity.
