Allowable Items

Residents are responsible for any belongings they bring into the facility. At Intake, residents are permitted to bring into the facility the items listed below. All other allowable items are available through commissary only. Residents will be issued and billed for an intake packet. An intake packet includes personal hygiene items: laundry bag, towels, and stamps. The personal hygiene packet includes: comb, stick deodorant, razors, shampoo, shaving cream, shower shoes, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste. A Resident may make reasonable requests on a weekly basis to replenish these personal hygiene items by completing a Commissary Request form. Beyond the time of intake, only money and clothing may be brought in for Residents. Money and clothing will only be accepted during non-visitation hours. No money or clothing will be accepted between 12:45p to 4.15p on Saturdays and Sundays or between 5:45p to 9:15p on Wednesdays. Exceptions to this rule may only be done with authorization from the Operations Manager or a Resident Supervisor. Clothing items will be searched for contraband. Contraband will be seized and/or returned and appropriate action will be taken.

The sleeping area shall provide the Resident with some degree of privacy. Residents shall be permitted to decorate their private sleeping area with personal possessions within reasonable limits. Personal decorations may not do damage to the area or insult normal levels of decency, as determined by Executive Director/designee. Residents are permitted to tape non-offensive pictures of family and friends to the inside of their personal locker and leave holiday, birthday, or greeting cards upright on their lockers for a short period of time.

Residents are only permitted to have the following:

Non-offensive pictures of family and friends to place on the inside of their lockers. The pictures may not depict drugs or alcohol. Holiday, birthday, or greeting cards may be placed upright on their lockers for a short period of time

shoes(up to three pair) belt
coats/jackets(two) wedding band/watch/wallet
pajamas/robe(one of each) paper/pencil/pens
pants/shorts(up to ten pair total) walkman/headphones
shirts(up to ten) cassette tapes/CDs (up to 10 total)
socks (up to ten pair) religious printed text
underwear (up to ten) water jug as provided through Commissary
white undershirts (up to ten) State issued photo identification
winter gloves Birth certificate and/or social security card

  • Work uniforms will be handled on an individual basis and approved by the Operations Manager/designee.
  • Cassette tapes/CDs must be in original packaging from the manufacturer. (No burned CDs or homemade cassette tapes)
